From the litter box to the scratching tree, the first vet visit to window nets: prepare before your new friend arrives.
Bringing a new cat home is exciting; a few preparations make the first days easier.
Before they arrive
- Litter box and clumping litter (away from food)
- Food and water bowls
- A scratching tree or board
- Window and balcony nets
- A carrier
The first week
Introduce your cat to one room first and leave somewhere to hide. Have a vet check within the first week and update the vaccination card and microchip record.
