How often should you trim your dog’s nails?
Long nails change the gait and tire the joints. When to trim, and at home or at the salon?

If nails click on the floor, it is time to trim. For most dogs that means every 3–5 weeks.
At home or at the salon?
The quick is visible in light nails, so home trimming is easy. With dark nails, trim little by little or have it done at the salon to avoid cutting the quick.
Getting used to it
Touch the paws from puppyhood and reward every time. We do walk-in nail and ear care on weekdays at the shop.
